Shannon is a certified English teacher licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has taught a variety of courses, including Advanced Placement, creative writing, and English as a Second Language, for students in grades 7 through 12. Through the National Endowment for the Humanities, Shannon was awarded a Literature Fellowship at Princeton University. She has also taught workshops and seminars for the Princeton University Program in Teacher Preparation and the Princeton University Cotsen Children’s Library. In addition to teaching, Shannon has been successfully preparing students for the SSAT, PSAT, SAT and ACT standardized tests through private tutoring. Using her keen understanding of the writing process, she guides potential boarding-school and college applicants through the important essay writing process.
